Róbert László Bácsi became a scholarship holder of the Capa Grand Prix 2021

On the 21st October, the jury of the Capa Grand Prix 2021 selected Róbert László Bácsi’s the project, the “Lost Territories” among the three scholarship recipients.

As a photographer, Róbert László Bácsi has been focusing on the fate of people living in states with limited recognition. Countries that became independent after the break-up of the Soviet Union are not recognized by the leading great powers for different reasons.

“I believe that the disintegration of the Soviet Union, and its circumstances, have been completely forgotten in recent years, but while the world has been dealing with newer conflicts since then, time has stood still in many areas. It involves a lot of lessons and phenomena to understand and to document. That is why I want to continue this work so that I can go through, at least in part, the areas I have not had the opportunity to do so far. ” – Róbert László Bácsi
